Jean Delport is the chef of Restaurant Interlude. Originally from South Africa, he embraces his culture past and present. Jean who trained in some of the best restaurants in the Cape winelands and Ireland has moved to West Sussex to realize his dream of opening Restaurant Interlude in the United Kingdom. British and French cooking form the base of Jean’s ideas, along with seasonality to lead a menu that takes you on an unexpected journey through the woodland gardens of Leonardslee.


Sous chef

Ruan is a lover of discovering hidden gems believes a meal is nothing without the dream team behind it. Born in South Africa, Ruan nurtured his cooking skills in Cape Town and has extensive experience with managing a kitchen of this level. He is one of the key driving forces within the kitchen, he brings a lot of energy and love for finer details to the team.


Restaurant Manager

Anya’s unsurpassed organisational skills and keen eye for detail makes her an integral member of Restaurant Interlude. With Anya’s traditional front of house training, she brings world-class skills in hospitality and is dedicated to make every guests experience unique.


Assistant manager

Mia believes in consistency and upholds the standards and quality of service delivery. As with everything in life she finds that the most challenging things are always the most rewarding. Originally from the kitchen, Mia brings experience from both sides to ensure our guests have the most memorable culinary journey.
