Tucked away within the historic Leonardslee estate in West Sussex, Restaurant Interlude offers an award-winning, nature-led dining experience. Led by Chef Jean Delport, the seasonal tasting menu is inspired by the surrounding woodland and gardens, with many ingredients foraged or grown on-site. Each visit is a unique journey through flavour, creativity, and the rhythms of the estate.

Dine

  • The dress code is smart casual.

    No t-shirts, shorts or sportswear to be worn and hats must be removed on your arrival. 

  • Children are welcome (no minimum age policy), but infants and toddlers are not permitted. Dogs and other pets are also not allowed in the dining area

  • Card only - no cash accepted. A 12.5% service charge is automatically added; this applies even to vouchers unless stated otherwise.

  • Estate entrance location details are provided. Guests must arrange their own transport; no shuttle service. Staff may record transport details

  • Treated like cash, valid for 12 months, non-refundable, non-extendable, cannot be exchanged or replaced if lost.

Stay

  • Check-in is from 16:00.

  • Ample parking is available just outside Leonardslee House, complete with four electric vehicle charging points.

  • Secure your reservation up to a year in advance when you book a stay at Leonardslee House, you can plan your visit up to a year ahead, guaranteeing a table at Restaurant Interlude.

  • Yes, staying guests enjoy exclusive after-hours access to our Grade I listed woodland gardens, perfect for a peaceful evening walk or tranquil morning exploration.

General

  • Restaurant Interlude only opens at 12:30 for lunch and 18:00 for dinner. 

    Should you wish to join us for a drink in the bar, we invite you to do so between 12:30 - 13:00 for lunch 18:00 and 18:30 for dinner.  

  • We recommend allowing 3-4 hours for the Experience.

  • While we do our best to accommodate dietary requirements, we kindly ask that any allergies or intolerances be communicated in advance, as we cannot guarantee adjustments without prior notice.

    Please note that garlic, onions, and salt are integral to our menu and cannot be removed.

    Unfortunately, we are unable to cater for dairy-free or vegan diets at this time.
